Officer Tanaka could not believe his eyes.
In the ball diamond was a body. The body was dressed in a loud blue and white floral hawiiain shirt, white shorts and was carrying some sort of vegetable thing decorated with beads and shells. The guy was HUGE. He was covered with what looked like dog bites. Tanaka was sure it was wolf bites.
Officer Tanaka approached with trepidation. This did not look good. However, giving the stories that were floating around the city, this guy could very well turn into a zombie or wolfman.
The body suddenly lurched and rolled over with a moan.
All the hair on the back of Tanaka's neck stood on end. He wished he had some garlic or silver bullets or .. or.. What did you use against zombies?
The body started muttering.
Tanaka crept a little closer until he could make out the words.
"Kanapapiki Kokami! Kokami! Kokami! Hûpô o nâ hûpô"
It didn't sound human. Officer Tanaka started unlatching his pistol. His kept his flashlight aimed at the body. In the firmest voice he could muster, he announced:
"Hold it right there demon."
The body turned its head towards the light and squinted.
"Who's there?"
"Officer Chad Tanaka of the Fredericton Police Department. Keep your hands were I can see them."
"My name is Ku'uaki and I had a run in with some shadow wolves. They are gone now."
Tanaka relaxed and stopped shining the light in Ku'uaki's face.
"What was that you were saying right then? Was it some kind of spell?"
"No I was cursing myself for being so stupid. Now, could go call an ambulance? I have left much of my blood on the field."
"Yes - of course." Tanaka got out his radio: "217."
"217," dispatch answered.
"I have a 11-14 here and he needs a 11-41. He's bleeding pretty badly."
"217, what is your location?"
"I am at the baseball field in Odell Park, South end."
"217, 11-78 ETA 5 min. 10-4"
"Just hold on Ku'uaki. Help is on the way. "
