Tomo wanted to keep his eyes closed forever.

He could feel Liz curled up beside him and Demitri curled around the both of them. The smell if the thing he had encountered in the closet was fading now.  It smelt like everything he had ever feared. It smelled of dogs, it smelled of darkness, it smelled of deep water.

Liz felt Tomo stiring and strated grooming him again.  Tomo was brough back to early kittenhood.  The feel of warm bodies.  The sense of being protected.

* you feeling better kitten?  i got most of the smell out of your fur *

* thank you.  but didn't the smell scare you? *

* it terrified me *

* how could you keep going? i don't think about anything but being scared *

* i guessed that comes from being an adult. part of being mature is being able to put your fears asside for awhile so you can do what needs to be done.  you needed my help so i though about that rather than think about being scared *

* you're so calm now *

* many of the things I do are to keep unfamilar humans from petting me.  ones like Demitri who walk slowly and speak softly are good.  there are other ones that speak loudly and pat your head like they were playing a tom tom *

* Cee told me that some humans put fire on his head *

* i remember that.  Cee lived in our house afterwards.  he hated humans.  Laura cared for him even when he tried to bite her.  she just said it was because he was mad at the pain.  the best part was that she let him go.  she won't let me outside -- it's too dangerous.  but Cee was built for the outdoors she said.  he was not happy in a house *

* i like being in a house with Demitri *

* Demitri is one to hold on to.  i like laura.  she is quiet.  but i think she is going to change.  if i want to stay with her, i'll have to change too *

* will you? *

* i think so.  would you change for Demitri? *

* for sure! *

* now let's wake Demitri up and get him to throw some spongey balls for us *

Demitri was pounced on by two cats -- he had no chance.
