I Wish I Had Some Help

This is meant to be a play on “Knock and the door will open.”

I’m pretty sure I traced the second panel from the first panel.

blog...

I’m starting to get the web comic itch again

I ordered a copy of “How To Make Webcomics” off the PVP website.

I commented on someone’s blog about the lack of Christian web comics. (Click tracks not withstanding. *shudder*)

I’m wanting to finish my epic story arc. It wasn’t supposed to be epic. But I guess that any story that lasts longer than a year falls into that category.

One of my problems is I keep trying to outdo myself. I am forgetting my rule that “Story is more important than Art”. Before you flame me, there are many many many examples of web comics that have both Art and Story. In my case, I like story. I hate when people leave their webcomic hanging.

Which is why I am feeling VERY VERY GUILTY about my own comic. I have a notebook full of story snippets. I know where I am heading story wise. So what’s stopping me?

I keep trying to create the BEST art I can. I have to learn that it is better in the long run to stick to a schedule than to make every thing a “professional level” work of art. (I think my art is far from professional) I don’t do this professionally. Professionally I deal with code and symbols and abstract concepts.

So in the end? I’ll most likely feel guilty for a couple of days, then doing nothing and feeling even worse about myself. :(

Knitting Mini Project

Pipping playing with Dim Sum Toy

I made my cat a “Feline Dim Sum” per the instructions on http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTdimsum.html

It turned out great. My cat Pippin jumped on it while I was still stuffing it.

(And yes, that is a Guitar Hero controller)

Choosing a subject for my blog

Right now my concentration is on remembering to write everyday. I’ll most likely keep this blog here as a personal musings site.

Now on to the subject at hand.

I was checking out what other blogs have to say on the subject. The overwhelming advice is that the narrower the focus of your blog, the more “successful” your blog will be. (By successful read popular and able to make money.)

So now I have to think about why am I making a blog.

So far I have:

  • To make a little bit of money I’m not going to be altruistic about this. One of the major reasons I am expending energy on this is so I can supplement my income.
  • To improve my writing Everywhere I read it says that the best way to learn writing is by writing
  • To build up a writing momentum Once again, all the writing books I have read said that you should write very day.
  • To make use of the universe of information that is in my head I have this tendency to pick up useful bits of information. The problem is that it is difficult to share this information with pther people.

That being said, my next problem is that I’m a renaissance girl. I’m into:

  • Orgainization
  • Making stuff: crafts, knitting, crochet, tatting, bobbin lace, …
  • Cats
  • Web Programming
  • Manga, comics, etc
  • Writing

So, what do I do? I think for know I’ll just post things to this blog. If I get a good momentum going in any one of those subjects, I’ll split it into it’s own site.

I’m back

It has been almost a year, but I keep having things to write about and promptings that I should really get my blog together.

Right now I am working as a Freelance Web Application Developer. My life is full of pain and stress and I am still working towards relieving myself of some of that stress.

Right now my goal is to become a famous blogger and make tons of money of my website! MWAH ha ha ha ha!

More news to come.
